The Vermilion County Museum is located within the 1850s home, built by pioneer physician William Fithian. Abraham Lincoln was a personal friend of Fithian, and gave his 1858 speech campaigning for the U.S. Senate from the south balcony of the museum. Originally opening on Veteran's Day 1999, the Vermilion County War Museum exhibits more than 200 years of U.S. Military history over two floors.
